About Us

The Washington, DC Metropolitan Alumni Chapter was first chartered as the Capitol-Tri-States Chapter on November 1, 1991. We serve as a medium for alumni currently residing in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to come together for advancing the growth of our beloved Alma Mater.

Our Campus

Alabama A&M University, located in Normal, AL, is recognized as one of the most beautiful HBCU campuses. It is the nestled in the hills of the Rocket City, Huntsville, Alabama.

Our History

The Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) is a land-grant University.  The school opened on May 1, 1875, as the Huntsville Normal School with an appropriation of $1,000 per year, 61 students, and two teachers. For more information on the history of AAMU,
